Toowoomba Regional Council is seeking detailed design and construction for new sewer pump stations (SPS), pressure, and gravity sewer mains at Kuhls Road. This project addresses identified pumping issues and aims to bring two SPSs up to peak wet weather flow requirements. The tender closes on 12 June 2026.
The Highfields & Meringandan Sewerage Catchment Study Planning Report 2021 (HMSCSPR) identified pumping issues in and around the Highfields town centre and in the vicinity of the New England Highway. Four sewer pump stations (SPS) have a common rising main which runs along Highfields Road discharging into a gravity sewer manhole near Lauder Drive. Two of these SPSs are currently not able to meet peak wet weather flow requirements. A copy of HMSCSPR is included in the “Reference Documents” of the Principal’s Project Requirements (attached).
